Man, I am pretty bummed about the state of the TGIF Fundraiser AND The Dyke March Indiegogo It seems like everybody has a few bucks to spare for everything but this. What’s that all about? While it’s great that people are willing to let others know about their projects or their hardships and get financial support from those that want to share, it seems kind of fucked up that so few people are willing to contribute to these two specific causes. Y’all can’t drop 5% of your PBR budget for this stuff? I hear a lot of talk about being a good ally but I gotta say, looking at how far these two have to go to meet their goals makes me wonder if all of that is a lot of posturing and bullshit. I’m kind of personally embarrassed as a person that ran a crowdsourcing campaign that did pretty well, that people are willing to give me money to amplify my voice but aren’t willing to support these voices. We need to do better than this. The Dyke March Indiegogo ends in TEN HOURS. Please, if you have $20, $15, $10 donate it today. It’s true, we need to do better. Support Dyke March and T.G.I.F!

Identification pictures of Henny Schermann, a shop assistant in Frankfurt am Main. In 1940 police arrested Henny, who was Jewish and a lesbian, and deported her to the Ravensbrueck concentration camp for women.
On the back of her prisoner photo was written: “Jenny (sic) Sara Schermann, born February 19, 1912, Frankfurt am Main. Unmarried shopgirl in Frankfurt am Main. Licentious lesbian, only visited such [lesbian] bars. Avoided the name ‘Sara.’ Stateless Jew.” [After 1938, as one way of identifying Jews, a Nazi ordinance decreed that “Sara” was to be added in official papers to the first name of all Jewish women.]
In 1942, Henny was gassed at the Bernburg killing facility.
